Road Trip!!!  National Board has decided to take a trip to Northern California to visit our Bay Area SisTaus.  We will be leaving Friday, March 25th and returning the following Sunday.  We will be organizing a dinner Saturday night and a brunch Sunday morning.  Details of restaurant and time will be emailed shortly.

To all you Bay Area Taus, we hope to see you at one of the events, if not both.

Unfortunately rides nor accommodations will be formally organized by National Board, but if you'd like to carpool, please contact Frances Olivia Chanco at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . and we will try to accommodate as much as we can.

Comfort Zone Camp is a nonprofit bereavement camp that transforms the lives of children who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling, or primary caregiver. The free camps include confidence building programs and age-based support groups that break the emotional isolation grief often brings. Its their mission to provide grieving children with a voice, and place and a community in which to heal, grow and lead more fulfilling lives.

How are Taus getting involved?  We will be attending a training session on Saturday, March 19th at
9am at the New York Life Los Angeles General Office.  The training session prepares volunteers for the Big Buddy role.  The Big Buddies serve as the child’s role model, mentor and anchor for the weekend and take part in all aspects of camp along side their camper, or Little Buddy.  The training session lasts 6 hours and the camp weekends are from Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon.

How to attend the training session?  If you'd like to get involved, please contact Melanie
Santos at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or Frances Olivia Chanco at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .  The first step is to fill out their online volunteer application through their website, www.comfortzonecamp.org.  This is a great opportunity to get involved with the community as well as make a huge impact in a child's life.  We hope to hear from you soon.
